Currently, he is the Director of "Dr. Satya's Liver & Gastro Care" IRC, Village Nayapali, Bhubaneswar; and working as Senior Consultant in the Department of HPB, GI Surgery and Liver Transplantation in UTKAL Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
He did his MBBS from MKCG Medical College, Berhampur. He completed his postgraduation in General and Laparoscopic surgery from the reputed institute of PGIMS, Rohtak. After completion of postgraduation, he worked in the same institute for two years, in which he had rigorous training and skill development in advanced laparoscopic surgeries and gastro-oncosurgery. Dr Satyaprakash did his MCh in Surgical Gastroenterology, Hepato-pancreato-biliary system from JIPMER, Pondicherry, the most prestigeous institute for superspeciality departments in india.
Currently he is Head of the Department of Gastrosurgery and liver transplant in Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar, and Senior Consultant Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, Hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in SUM ULTIMATE Medicare, Bhubaneswar.
He has performed thousands of surgeries pertaining to Gastrosurgery,Gastrooncosurgery. Laparoscopic surgery for gall bladder stones, appendix, colon, rectum, stomach and esophagus is his specific area of interest. Advanced Laparoscpic surgeries for cancers are regularly performed, providing less morbidity, less pain, early recovery and best oncological benefit to the patients. Gall bladder cancer, pancreas and liver cancers, esophagus, stomach and colorectal cancers are managed in advanced laparoscopic techniques. He has performed more than 500 Pancreatic surgeries recently with outcome as per international standard.
